Privacy Policy

Effective July 22, 2026 · How we handle your information on Nextprojex (nextprojex.com)

The short version: Nextprojex is a professional network, so your profile, company page, posts, and reputation are public by design. Your email is hidden by default and your direct messages and confidential project files are private. We don't sell your personal information today; because the Service is free, we may in the future, and if we do we'll tell you first and give you a way to opt out. We'll never sell your verification data or your direct messages. Add only what you're authorized to make public.

1. Who we are

Nextprojex is operated by NextprojeX LLC, a North Carolina limited liability company ("Nextprojex," "we," "us," or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to this Policy and to our Terms of Use. Questions or requests: privacy@nextprojex.com.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

Account & profile — name, email address, password, role (rep, GC, subcontractor, supplier, architect, spec writer, etc.), job title, phone, and any professional details you add.
Verification & identity data — information used to confirm you're who you say you are and affiliated with the company you claim (work email domain, company affiliation, credential details, and the result of a verification check). Some of this may be sensitive information under state law; we use it only to verify identity, keep the network authentic, and prevent fraud — never to build advertising profiles.
Company page — company name, logo, banner, tagline, locations, service areas, product lines, rep territories, and capabilities you publish.
Content you post — posts and comments, photos, and files or documents you upload or attach to a project (which may include plans, specs, or addenda).
Project information — projects you create, claim, or attach yourself or your company to.
Communications — direct messages, support requests, and anything you send us by email.

Information we collect automatically

Usage and device data (pages viewed, features used, approximate location from IP, browser and device type, timestamps), server logs, and cookies used to keep you signed in, secure the Service, and understand usage.

Information from other sources

Public and government records that Nextprojex aggregates about projects and permits (this is about projects and public filings, governed by our Terms), and information a colleague, employer, or verification provider supplies to confirm your identity or affiliation.

3. How we use information

Create and operate your account and display your profile, company page, and content.
Verify identities and company affiliations, and issue or withhold verification status.
Detect and prevent fraud, fake listings, spam, scraping, and Terms violations.
Operate features like the feed, connections, project pages, reputation, and messaging.
Provide support, send service and administrative messages, analyze and improve the Service, and comply with law.

4. How we share information

Service providers. We use vetted vendors to run the Service: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Netlify (hosting), and our email-delivery provider. They may process your information only to provide services to us, under confidentiality obligations.
Other members and the public. Information you publish is visible to others and, in some cases, the public — see Section 5.
Legal, safety & rights protection. We may disclose information where we believe in good faith it's necessary to comply with law, enforce our Terms, protect Nextprojex, our members, or the public, or respond to a claim that content violates a third party's rights.
Business transfers. If Nextprojex is involved in a merger, financing, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

We do not currently sell your personal information, and we do not currently "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California and other state privacy laws. Because the Service is free, we may in the future sell or share certain categories — identifiers, professional/employment information, commercial information, and internet/network activity — to support and fund it. If we ever do, we will first update this Policy and its date, describe the categories and the categories of recipients, and provide an opt-out — including a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and honoring recognized browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC) — before any such sale or sharing begins. We will never sell or share your verification and identity data or your direct messages, and we do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you for advertising.

Aggregated and de-identified information. We may create, use, share, and license aggregated or de-identified information (for example, market and project-activity insights that do not identify you or any individual). This is not personal information, and its use is not restricted by this Policy, provided we keep it de-identified and do not try to re-identify it.

5. What's public

Nextprojex is a professional network, so parts of it are public by design. Your profile, company page, posts, comments, reputation, and verification status are generally visible to other members and may be visible to the public and search engines. Your email address is hidden by default and shown only if you choose to reveal it. Direct messages and confidential documents you upload to a project are not public and are shared only with the people you choose. Don't post anything you aren't authorized to make public.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or obtain a portable copy of your personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and certain profiling; and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. We do not sell or share personal information today, so there is nothing to opt out of yet; if that ever changes, we will provide a "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" link and honor recognized browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control (GPC), and this section will explain exactly how. You can view and edit most of your information in your account settings, or delete your account. For any other request, email privacy@nextprojex.com. We respond within the time required by law (generally within 45 days), and you may use an authorized agent — we may need to verify your identity first.

7. California residents (CCPA/CPRA)

In the prior 12 months we collected these categories of personal information: identifiers (name, email, phone, account IDs); professional/employment information (role, title, company, credentials); commercial information (projects and companies you interact with); internet and network activity; approximate geolocation (from IP); audio/visual information (photos and files you upload); and, for verification, information that may be considered sensitive personal information. We collect it from you, other members, verification sources, and automatically, and use it for the purposes in Section 3. We use sensitive personal information only to verify identity and affiliation, run the Service, and prevent fraud — not to infer characteristics for advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the prior 12 months. As described in Section 4, we may in the future sell or share these categories: identifiers, professional/employment information, commercial information, and internet/network activity — never sensitive personal information — and we will provide the opt-out in Section 6 before doing so. 8. Other U.S. state privacy rights

If you live in a state with a comprehensive privacy law (including Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others as they take effect), you may have rights similar to those in Section 6, including the right to opt out of targeted advertising, the sale of personal data, and certain profiling, and the right to appeal a denied request. We do not currently conduct those activities; if that changes, we'll provide the opt-out your state's law requires. Submit requests and appeals to privacy@nextprojex.com.

9. Data retention

We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, then retain it only as necessary to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our agreements. Public content you posted may remain visible to others if it was shared, quoted, or cached elsewhere; we remove it from the active Service when you delete the content or your account.

10. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information, including access controls, row-level security on our database, and restricted storage permissions. No system is perfectly secure, and we can't guarantee absolute security. If we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and applicable authorities as required by law.

11. Where your information is processed

Nextprojex is operated in the United States, and your information is processed and stored in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the U.S., you understand your information will be processed in the U.S.

12. Children

The Service is intended for professionals and is not directed to anyone under 18. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, email privacy@nextprojex.com and we'll delete it.

13. Third-party links

The Service may link to third-party sites we don't control. This Policy doesn't apply to them; review their privacy policies before providing information.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. If we make material changes — including any decision to begin selling or sharing personal information — we'll update the effective date above, take reasonable steps to notify you before the change takes effect, and provide any opt-out required by law. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
